Volunteer
Volunteers help keep our programs going strong and touch the lives of many families. Volunteer opportunities are available during the day and evening and on weekends. There are many ways to get involved, and it only takes a few hours to make a real difference. Check out this video of our volunteer, Dale Cockely talking about his experience here at the Jacksonville Ronald McDonald House.
Last year, volunteers worked over 20,000 hours - That's the equivalent of more than ten unpaid staff positions! If you are interested in becoming involved with RMHC Jacksonville, just decide how you would like to help and complete and return the application you'll find below. Thanks!
How can you help?
At the Ronald McDonald House®...
Volunteers are an integral part of our day-to-day operations. From answering phones to transporting families to cleaning rooms, volunteers help make our very special House feel just like home.
At the Ronald McDonald Family Room®...
Volunteers work four-hour shifts as hosts and hostesses of our Family Room at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The Family Room offers games, videos, snacks and coffee - Not to mention the warmth provided by a loving volunteer.
As a member of our Speakers' Bureau...
Share your knowledge and love for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville® with interested local groups. You'll be trained to present information about our mission to those who want to learn more.
At our special events...
We host special events throughout the year to raise money for our Ronald McDonald House program. From McGala to the Children's Way 5K, volunteers are needed to help plan and assist with running these events.
As a Caring Chef...
Providing a dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House is a fun way to involve a larger group of volunteers. After a long day at the hospital or clinic, a hot meal is a welcome gift. Your group may schedule an evening to prepare dinner by calling 904.807.HOME (4663). Guidelines for meal preparation can be found below.
Other ways...
You can also help by organizing a collection of items from our Wish List that we need to help operate our programs. Some groups like to collect pop tabs from aluminum cans. We recycle them to raise operating funds for the Ronald McDonald House program. For more information, call 904.807.HOME (4663).
