NFL veteran Joe Zelenka and other professional athletes laced up their bowling shoes as they supported RMHC Jacksonville at Jax Grove bowling lanes for the 9th annual Joe-Z Celebrity Bowling. Competition was fierce as the children of RMHC showed the athletes what a strike and a spare really looked like. Rain or shine, Rock the House 5K Run was Rockin’ at Riverplace Towers, San Marco! A little rain wasn’t going to intimidate close to 300 runners from supporting RMHC Jacksonville. Ronald was there to make sure everyone crossed the finish line and the winners received their medals! Thank You to All the Superheroes Who Made Our 2013 McGala Such A Success!   Superheroes Spotted at the 2013 McGala  Superhero sightings at the Jacksonville Ronald McDonald House occur fairly often. Happy Birthday Anita! This summer RMHC Jacksonville celebrated the 11th birthday of our  therapy dog, Anita!  Anita fills the house with warmth and comfort. When you need a paw Anita is always there. Anita is an important part of the RMHC Jacksonville team and makes the children and families feel right at home. She works hard providing snuggles, kisses and playing with the kids, but Anita loves her job and spending time with the families!  The families, staff and volunteers of RMHC Jacksonville all gathered to celebrate Anita with birthday cake, presents, games and of course a few dog treats!...

Wagging Tails, Snuggles and Puppy Kisses for the Families of RMHC Jacksonville   Canine Companions for Independence visited with our families on May 7, 2013. They played with kids and gave lots of kisses, making some guests day a little brighter. Tibet, a 16-month-old pup in training, even helped one child at RMHC overcome his fear of dogs after realizing how friendly she was.  “We find the dogs to be a stress reliever for children and families,” said third year Canine Companion trainer Vicky Smith.  Special thanks to Canine Companions for Independence who visits RMHC  Jacksonville once every week!
